Therapy for Anxiety in Teen Girls

Robina, Gold Coast — In-Person & Telehealth

If your daughter has been more withdrawn, more tearful, or more overwhelmed than usual — struggling with school mornings, social pressure, or a constant sense of not being enough — you're not imagining it, and you're not alone. Anxiety in teen girls is common, and it's treatable.

At Salt Psychology, Kylie Donnolley works specifically with pre-teen and adolescent girls navigating anxiety, using an approach shaped by 27 years across both school and clinical settings.

What Anxiety Can Look Like in Teen Girls

Anxiety doesn't always look like worry. In adolescent girls, it often shows up as:

  • School refusal or reluctance to attend

  • Perfectionism and fear of failure

  • Trouble sleeping or constant fatigue

  • Irritability, meltdowns, or shutting down

  • Avoiding friends, activities, or social situations

  • Physical symptoms — stomach aches, headaches — with no clear medical cause

These patterns are common during adolescence, and they respond well to the right support.
